Today I am sharing a very delicious recipe that is curd rice .Curd rice ,In the state of Tamil Nadu it is called thayir sadam and in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh it is called daddojanam and is offered as prasadam (blessed food) to devotees in temples.

Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Curd rice:

  1. 2 cups cooked rice, mashed
  2. 2 tsp oil
  3. 1 cup thick yogurt
  4. 1-2 dry red chillies
  5. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 1/4 tsp urad dal
  7. 1/4 tsp chana dal
  8. 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  9. 1 pinch hing / asafoetida
  10. A few curry leaves
  11. To taste Salt

Instructions to make to make Curd rice

  1. Firstly Heat oil and add mustard seeds. When they pop, add of urad dal and chana dal. Let it fry until golden brown.
    Now add the hing, red chillies, ginger, and curry leaves. Fry for a few seconds and turn off the heat.
  2. Add the mashed rice to this and mix well. Now add curd and little water mix well.Also add salt at this stage.
    The rice will keep absorbing the water so u can add more if required cook it for 4,5 minutes. The curd rice should be loose in consistency.
  3. Our curd rice is ready to serve.
